CHAOS!

Well I have 22 days left in Europe and 17 left in Spain. How do I feel about this? I don´t have time to think about it. In the next 22 days I have three final exams to study for, one novel to finish, a cubist sculpture of a bird to be hammered, twisted, bent, and sewn into shape, a clay figurine to make my bitch (sorry mom), a best friend to visit in the Czech Republic, good byes to say, sunshine to tan in, beach glass to find, wine to drink, last minute pictures to take, tears to cry, suitcases to pack, a room to clean....OH MY GOD WHAT AM I DOING WRITING THIS BLOG!

I really have no clue as to how I will finish everything....
AH!

Life Happens...

So the last week or so I´ve been pretty down in the dumps about Spain. A million little things compounded into me being one stressed out and homesick girl. But, I think yesterday was the tipping point and from now on I´m going back to the bright side (not dark side...get it?) Ok, lame joke but Andy I know at least you understood that.

Good Things
Today is a beautiful sunny day.
My sculpture professor DOES NOT think my project sucks.
I´m going to get to vist Walky in Prague for FIVE glorious and Czech filled days.
My knee has healed nicely and no longer looks like there is a golf ball coming out of it.
Sergi is letting me borrow his laptop which means internet & Skype access.
I´m reading an AWESOME book (Girl who Kicked the Hornets Nest)
I made scrambled eggs and hash browns last night for dinner. I´m not sure Sergi liked them but he ate them to be nice. I´m really going to miss him.
I´m about to head to spin class and it´s with the really good looking instructor...

AND I have some wonderful friends and family to hang out with in 26 short days.
See life isn´t all that bad.

Earth Day

I had just gotten back from the beach where I had been collecting beach glass. It was a wonderful sunny day and I felt all clean because I had just gotten out of the shower. I wondered what I was going to do for the rest of the afternoon when Liz called me. Turns out there was an earth day celebration! YAY!

It´s Never too late to...

I was sitting in my room wishing I knew how to speak French when a profound thought hit me. I can learn French. Just like Sergio is learning English. Now, I realize that doesn´t seem all that life shattering but I think the core concept behind it is often brushed a side. I hear people say all the time, ´I wish I knew how to do _________´ To which I would reply, ´Then do it!´
It´s never too late to start something new, to change the way you live, or the way you view the world. It´s never too late to pick up a new instrument, learn how to cook, or start a garden. So I decided in my moment of inspiration that I was going to tear down the collage I have been building up over the past seven months and start completely new.

When your laptop is broken....

You do a lot more interesting things. I´ve finished three novels this week and started a fourth this morning. Asparagus hunting was really awesome. Wild asparagus are very skinny and we hiked all over that mountain to find what we did, about a handful each. I´ve been busy...

going hiking, picking lavender, and pressing flowers.

hunting asparagus with friends

Spending more time reading, drinking coffee, and being creative.

It also leaves more time for doodles

Good Morning Big World!

I woke this morning with all sort of butterflies and a combination of excitement which I attempted to quell with a strong coffee and the last of my oatmeal, indeed a breakfast of champions. I've done the best I can to prepare and I think I'm as ready as I will ever be. So wish me luck because in roughly five hours I will be presenting via Skype to the JCEL funding & planning committee asking for seed capital money to get Something Sunny off the ground.

Sending happy thoughts are always welcome :)

Ps: I should know by early next week their decision.

Walking Home

I walked home from Liz´s house yesterday and took some pictures. I was planning on biking but my bike was broken...just like my mac book. Anyway here are the sites I saw on the way home.

I love Spring & Sunshine (PERIOD)

I woke up to a wonderful sunny morning and a disaster of a room. I decided to do make some coffee and do some deep Spring cleaning. Afterwards I walked to the park and enjoyed the sunshine while reading my newest book on the bench. On my way home I picked some flowers and put them in a glass jar on my desk. It was a really nice afternoon.

Something Sunny!

Something Sunny has made it onto the agenda at the funding committee meeting next Friday! Hannah is finishing up the sample frames that we are sending to blow them away. We have the technical boring mathematics out of the way. The doozy of a business plan is laid out and ready. The skype appointment is set. I'll be a nervous wreck hoping my internet doesn't cop out of me...which it does fairly regularly.

Wish me luck! And if you aren't already a fan of Something Sunny of facebook please become one! We are only a few short of 300 fans!
Now check these lovely pictures out....If these weren't the prettiest half painted frames that you ever did see!

Paris est la plus belle ville du monde! And here are some pictures to prove it.

Paris is the most beautiful city I have ever seen. The gardens, the buildings, the people, the food! I was very surprised at how friendly and warm the French were. I had my doubts but they had no qualms of striking up conversations with us on the metro, trying to teach me how to pronunciate 'four' properly, and just generally being helpful. I had such an amazing time. I'm ready to ditch Spanish take up French and run away with a stylishly good looking French man. J'aime Paris!
