I woke up this morning and after being super productive and took my camera outside and shot a few pictures of the morning fog. It's a nice fall day. I'm really excited for neighbor dinner night tomorrow!
We live on Onieda Street right across from the football field and we happen to be sandwiched in between soccer boys on the right and cross country girls on the left. So I decided we should do some sort of weekly dinner night. So after the huge success of our first dinner night we've made it into a Friday night tradition. One person, our chef for the week, organizes a menu and the ingredients and everyone treks to Weis and drops them off the night before.
This week is neighbor dinner night bring a friend so we'll have quite a few people packed into our little bungalow home tomorrow night. And just to make you drool a little here is our menu:
Artichoke Dip & Crackers
Salad
Asparagus Squash Side Dish
Corn Red Pepper Leek Soup
Panera Bread
& Carmel & Chocolate drizzled apples
YUM!

Ramblings
I haven't blogged in a really long time and so I'm throwing together this little blog before class starts.
I'm super happy with my Senior year thus far. My insane schedule that had me in tears before the summer even ended and suffering panic attacks in the bathroom is actually much less insane that I ever could have hoped for. I love my job, I love my internship, my classes are fine, and soccer is going great.
Of all things to look forward to I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving (already!) because I'm just so excited to see my OLP friends. Walky and I are still hoping to convince Shmo to come out for it. I'm excited to show off our little house :) I also can't wait for my parents to come at Senior week! My mom isn't even going to recognize the place!

My Last First Day
This blog is a testament to the fact that even veterans, yes I consider myself a veteran at school, can make mistakes.
Rewind.
Today was my first day of school. I had class starting at 9am. I picked out my outfit, straightened my hair, packed up my things, and filled my coffee cup.
Financial Accounting went smoothly. I’ve managed to lock down a text book and know the homework assignment. (I even started it tonight)
Fast forward.
I’m walking through the hall and see Professor Donaldson teaching a class. He is my advisor and professor for New Venture Creation. I walk past the doorway, realize it’s him and back up to wave hi. I was surprised and a little hurt that he didn’t wave back and instead gave me a look like…who are you?
Fast Forward 7 hours later. I’m looking through my schedule for the next day and I realized that I mixed up the times of my two classes. I waved at him in the class I was SUPPOSE TO BE IN! No wonder he looked at me like a crazy!
So I suppose even on your last first day you can make mistakes

Garage Sale Bargains
Walky and I went garage sale shopping this weekend and scored this awesome chair for my office, a porch swing, mirrors, table easels for my frames, a cute dotted flower pot, a mulan dvd, soy sauce dipping bowls, ceramic bowls, some dinner plates and a few other knick knacks for TEN DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS.
We were especially excited about the porch swing which we snagged for two dollars. Walky quickly had it up and installed and we were thrilled with ourselves, naturally. That is until I was eating Cheerios on it early Sunday morning and it came crashing down spilling milk and cheerios all over me. Don't worry I managed to come out of it unscathed and Walky reinstalled it yesterday with 'tools this time'.
I'm almost done repainting the kitchen a warm yellow color. Katie Keating came over last night to help me. I'll be glad when I can put that project behind me.
Now, that I've basically finished painting my first shipment of frames life seems much more manageable. Soccer is right around the corner and I couldn't be more excited.

Life in the coffee shops
In Barcelona cafes were a huge part of the culture. In fact, many Europeans prefer to socialize and meet in cafes instead of houses like we do in the United States. Especially in big cities, like Barcelona, where nearly everyone has a small cramped apartment the outdoor patios of the cafes and laid back atmosphere makes it the idea place to sit and enjoy a coffee and croissant. It was one of the things I thought I would miss most about Europe, Cafe Time.
But, I've been fortunate and to satisfy my coffee fix in the morning I head to Standing Stone Coffee Company. It's a cute little coffee shop a few blocks from my house with a wonderful outdoor patio, absolutely delicious lobster bisque and breakfast cookies, and a wonderful place to spend a few hours. It also happens to have been founded by a Juniata grad. And this past weekend just happened to be their two year anniversary. So they passed out free coffee all day to happy customers.
I love to see places like Standing Stone succeed because I think they add such a wonderful element to the community. And, after starting my own little business I can better understand how much blood, sweat, and tears go into something like that. So congratulations Standing Stone and cheers to many more anniversaries!

Progress is a Beautiful Thing
I've been totally swamped with work and I love it. I have a shipment of 50 frames coming in sometime in the next two weeks on top of the 25 I have now.
I've realized that while I enjoy the creative aspect of Something Sunny I get my real high from working with people, marketing, thinking of ways to expand, and talking to customers. I think that this experience will have a huge impact on the kind of jobs I look and apply for post graduation.
I'd also like to say that I'm so thankful for all the help I have received in the past two years to bring this all together and I can't wait to see where I go from here.
